We have been providing quality Level 3 Rotax Sales, Service, Inspection, and Repair for more than 15 years and are a Authorized Independent Rotax Repair Center for Leading Edge Airfoils (LEAF) and a dealer for Bing CarburetorŐs and parts. All Rotax inspections and repair services are performed by a Certified Rotax Maintenance Technition in strict accordance with the most current official Rotax instructions and procedures. We welcome questions from engine owners concerning recommended services and inspections. Rotax 2-cycle engine services available range from the simple inspection to complete overhauls and major rebuilds.
We will pickup and deliver engines within about a 250 mile radius of Liberty, MO. for a reasonable transportation and fuel surcharge (currently $0.35/mi. total round trip mileage as shown by Expedia mapping). On-site service and maintenance calls can also be arranged for the fuel surcharge plus a minimum of two hours labor. Shipping by Insured freight (R&L, Roadway, ViTran, Yellow or other LTL carrier recommended) is also available anywhere in the US. Customer is responsible for all shipping, crating or palletizing, and insurance costs. If you do not have a proper sized pallet or do not know how to palletize your engine for shipping we will send you a custom pallet along with instructions and the necessary fasteners on request. Freight charges have been in the neighborhood of $175.00 (depending on fuel surcharges which seem to change daily), and freight insurance premiums (required) are currently around $45.00. Check with us for the latest prices. Detailed work orders are provided with each engine serviced, along with complete inspection reports, detailed list of critical measurements and dimensions as well as a ready for "Return to Service" statement. As an additional service we remove carbon buildups on all engines being inspected or overhauled at no additional charge.
Our shop rate is $55.00 per hour. Typical cost for the complete Rotax recommended 150 hour periodic inspection (on an average condition 582 engine) is approximately $725* (which normally includes about 7.5 hours of labor charges). Usual 150 hour costs on a Rotax 503 is about $591.75 and on a Rotax 447 about $594.00. Typical cost for the 300 hour inspection and service (on an average condition 582 engine) is approximately $2867.70* which includes, in addition to the standard seals, gaskets, etc., a new crankshaft, pistons, rings, wrist pins, rotary valve shaft, rotary valve shaft gear and bearings. Usual 300 hour costs on a Rotax 503 is around $2345.50 and on a Rotax 447 about $2410.00. An initial deposit** of $300 due when the engine is delivered to our shop for either the 150 hour or the 300 hour inspection. Other services or parts that are found upon inspection to be in need of repair or replacement (such as rings, belts, and bearings) are additional. All parts are invoiced at the then current Rotax pricing based on the value of the USD. We use only genuine Rotax parts. In some cases we are able to provide quality pre-used Rotax parts which meet factory specifications for substantial savings at the customer's request.
* Estimates are based on the then
current Rotax parts pricelist and
will vary based on the value of the US dollar.
** All
new gaskets, seals (including crankshaft seals), spark plugs, oil injection
hoses, carbon removal, timing, necessary adjustments, and fluids are included
in the initial $300 deposit.
Engines should be received without propeller or muffler/exhaust system (exhaust manifold can be left attached). The intake manifold and carburetors should be left mounted on the engine for inspection and any necessary adjustment. The rotary valve oil system should also be left on the engine. If engines are delivered to the shop mounted on the aircraft an additional charge of $100.00 is added for removal necessary for the inspection and overhaul.
